Realistic Wellness Habits That Actually Fit My Schedule (And My Personality)
No green juice guilt here — just what works.
I’m not waking up at 5 AM. I’m not running five miles. And I definitely don’t want to do a 12-step morning routine just to feel like I’m “doing wellness right.”
This is your reminder that wellness can — and should — fit you. Not the other way around.
I’m a shy, introverted girlie with a full-time job, a growing content business, and very little interest in extremes. But I still care about feeling good, having energy, and showing up for myself.
So here’s my actual wellness routine. The one I live by. It’s not glamorous. It’s not trend-chasing. But it works.
1. Morning Silence Over Morning Hustle
Instead of trying to journal, meditate, drink lemon water, do yoga, and recite 30 affirmations before 8AM…I just start with silence. No music, no scrolling, no convo.
I sit. I breathe. I stretch. That’s it.
Sometimes I whisper a few affirmations. Other days I just enjoy the quiet.
➡️ This is my nervous system reset. And it costs $0.
2. Hydration Is My First Act of Love
Before I check emails, scroll, or even think too hard — I hydrate.
A glass of water with minerals, a swig of Gatorade Zero for electrolytes, or a warm cup of herbal tea if I’m easing into the day.
➡️ It’s my way of telling my body: I got you.
No caffeine needed. Just care in liquid form.
3. I Romanticize 1 Healthy Meal a Day
I don’t count calories. I don’t restrict. But I do try to make at least one meal pretty and balanced.
Whether it’s a Sweetgreen bowl or roasted salmon and rice at home, I make it a moment:
Real plate. Real utensils. Phone down. Music on.
➡️ It’s not about eating perfectly — it’s about giving my body a little love each day.
4. I Don’t Force Social Time
Rest is part of my wellness routine. And that includes saying “no” to plans when I need to.
I still go out. I love a solo date. But I’m not “outside” all the time, and I no longer feel bad about that.
➡️ Boundaries are wellness too.
5. I Log Off (Without Announcing It)
Some days, I disappear from social media. No post. No scroll. No explanation.
I just take space. Breathe. Move. Come back when I’m ready.
➡️ Protecting your peace doesn’t have to be performative.
Wellness should feel real. Not performative. Not overwhelming. Not like something you need to “bounce back” from.
If you’re introverted, busy, or just tired of doing the most — give yourself permission to do what actually fits. That’s where the magic is.
